The fast ignitor workshop series has played an important role in the rapid progress in the physics of fast ignition inertial fusion world-wide. It provides a forum for discussion on important topics in high intensity laser-plasma physics that are relevant to fast ignition and allows new experimental and theoretical results to be presented in an informal and collegiate atmosphere.

This purpose of this website is to collate and distribute information generated at these workshops which are held on a two-yearly basis. The Fast Ignition Workshop is an international forum for discussion about issues relating to the physics of fast ignition fusion energy.

The website also strongly encourages general discourse on Fast Ignition related issues not just those generated from the FIW workshop itself. These activities are enabled by the discussion forum and onsite repository.
